It seems that I have lost my saves after the last gog update. I have found the folder, copy-pasted the saves in the new save folder and it didn't work.
The steps I made are these:
- played the game, realized the saves are missing.
- saved on slot 8
- searched for the lost saves and for the new save (they are in different folders)
- copy-pasted old saves in the new folder. Which didn't work. Old saves are folders which include player.dat, village.map, etc, while the new one includes just save_1 as a file. And the game doesn't open with the mod menu (I have no mods installed, nor downloaded).
Does anyone know what happened?
What you're seeing here is that Driftmoon received a big update, called the Enchanted Edition. Saves from the Driftmoon vanilla edition (the old version) are not compatible with the Driftmoon Enchanted edition, so you're not seeing the old saves in the new game version. If you'd like to continue playing the old version with your old saves, you can download the vanilla version from the game extras.

I see, thanks! I'll search on the internet to see what the differences are.

No need to search the internet - there is a thread in this forum that lists the changes :)

Hello Victor66!

As the user 'Pajama' mentioned, you can find information on the differences between the new Enchanted Edition and the older (original) vanilla version of Driftmoon here in the GOG.com forum both in the corresponding thread within the game's forum section, mentioned already by 'Pajama', as well as in the release news thread of the Enchanted Edition upgrade.

In the latter, I listed some differences which I observed by comparison of gameplay footage on youtube, before I ever played Drfitmoon by myself.

You could start reading from my initial post here:
GOG Drfitmoon EE release thread, post no. 54

And read both the developer's response (post no. 56) to my questions and a list of more observations in my second post no. 58, too.
Driftmoon release thread, post no. 58

Since then, I already bought and started playing the game (currently, still ongoing with the vanilla version, available in the product's Extras here on GOG.com) and do enjoy it a lot. I am planning on a second playthrough with the newer Enchanted Edition, afterwards. And will report of my impressions (and more findings of differences between the two versions) later on.

The biggest difference from a user's / player's perspective so far, seems to be the switch to the Unity game engine, providing support for additional operating systems (Linux and Mac OSX), but also requireing a 64-Bit operating system for the Enchanted Edition in the meantime. (Although, the developer already told to take a look in the provision of 32-Bit executables.)

Kind regards,
foxgog
