I'm at the final battle with Ixal, or whatever his name is, and he's invincible! I've shut off all the valves around him, but I still can't hurt him, and there's nothing else to do! How do I kill him?

The preceding conversations hinted you at him being impervious to all but the silver weapon or weapons your forged just before the battle. So just change to another weapon.
