I'm stuck in the abbey - I've found the tune to play on the glockenspiel, but can't play it because a bird is inside the glockenspiel. How do I get the bird out?

Talk to the bird. There should be a quest which must be completed first.

The bird moved in the Glockenspiel because (s)he lost his/her nest. Finding the nest might help. ;)

Try searching at the Market-nearly-Square.

(To find it, you need to do some chatting with a certain merchant.)

No. I can't find any way to talk to the bird. I don't see any nest at the Market-nearly-Square, and no conversation with anyone there mentions a nest, a bird or any kind of quest.

Try holding down CTRL when near the Glockenspiel - it should show where the Bird is. It's a little difficult to spot the right place to click, I'll need to fix that at least.

If you still can't initiate a conversation with the Bird, I'd love to see your saved game. They're at My Documents/Driftmoon/mainmod. Just send it over to ville@monkkonen.net.

I got stuck on this part too and had to look it up online to continue. It didn't seem obvious to me that I needed to press Ctrl to be able to talk to the bird in the first place, and I spent a frustrating few minutes wandering the abbey.

Otherwise this game has been a wonderful, low-stress distraction for me at the end of my day and I have been really enjoying it! I wouldn't have heard about it if RPS didn't post an article a while back. Hopefully they do a review because this is a real gem, the first game I've been coming back to day after day in quite a while!

Fixing the bird quest right now - it used to be a lot easier to spot the bird in earlier versions, but some other change affected this. (You don't really need to press control to talk to the bird even now, but you'll find her more easily by pressing control.)

Thanks for reporting this, the bird will be easier to spot starting from the next update! :)

FWIW I had no trouble at all talking with the bird.

The version with a less elusive birdie-in-glockenspiel has been live for quite some time now. We're happy to hear that the creature hasn't been as tricky to spot as before. :)
