Looking for some hints, because I am afraid I may have ruined this quest.

In my exploration I stumbled into a pack of wolves, and killed them all.
Were they an option for her to have as a master?

I am trying to find the best master for her, but just wanted to know if I need to keep looking....

If you're referring to the wolf that is in the small hideout, the answer is not far. That's the best I can give you without a spoiler.

I ended up sending her to Proffessor Dore.
He's senile and needs all the help he can get.

In my case i sent her to man in maze. I think she had tough enough master and deserve someone more caring.

I returned to Professor Dore's camp but he's not there. I see some (presumably fake) skeletons nearby--did he die? I wanted to give Arabella to him.

Edit: He was at Gaunt's Vault.
