Windows 10 - The game doesn't crash. I've looked at some troubleshooting already. Things that didn't work - Changing any of the graphics setting, running as administrator, disabling full screen optimizations. I have yet to run it in any compatibility modes though. I figured I would try posting here after some basic troubleshooting. I know it's not an autosave that's causing the crash because there isn't one there. (The area is Deeps of Gruldur at the bottom of some stairs, post boss fight.) I've had no issues up to this point. Trying troubleshooting gets annoying because this game locks the computer while it's running. (Disabling full screen optimization somehow made it worse, was only able to restart after prees control alt delete instead of being able to alt tab and restart. Task manager does nothing. If anyone could share a tip for easing that issue would be much appreciated too

I have the same problem in another area "above the silver falls". The game freezes in the upper third of the map, before that it works perfectly.
Does anyone know a solution or hints what to do?

Have you tried ALT+ENTER twice? That would get you to swap window mode and full screen a few times, which might fix some irregularities.

Thanks for the tip Tallima, unfortunately it did not help.
I had to load an early save game where I was in another area. Now it runs without problems and I got to Murolosch.
