If you want to solve the logic puzzle posed by the sprites by yourself instead of looking it up in a walkthrough you must pretty much first hear all the 24 sprite sentences (one for each of the three colors of each of the eight sprites). This is pretty annoying, since they keep moving around and changing color semi-randomly.

I went to the trouble of writing them all down, perhaps this is of use to someone who wants to solve the logic puzzle himself but is annoyed by all the high-precision pointing and clicking:

Bart R: My sister tells the truth when she is blue.
Bart Y: Some blue sprites always lie. Some always tell the truth.
Bart B: Yancy and I are like the most other sprites.

Betty R: The sprite who can make it safe for you to cross can only do so when the first letter of its name is different from the first letter of its color.
Betty Y: The sorcerer Sanwe is evil.
Betty B: Only a blue sprite can make it safe for you to cross.

Jane R: When I am blue, the sprite who can make it safe for you to cross is red.
Jane Y: My brother tells the truth when he is blue.
Jane B: Some blue sprites always lie. Some always tell the truth.

Jim R: Yellow sprites always lie.
Jim Y: My sister tells the truth when she is blue.
Jim B: The sprite who can make it safe for you to cross can only do so when the first letter of its name is different from the first letter of its color.

Rachel R: My brother is either Bart or Yancy.
Rachel Y: When I am yellow, the sprite who can make it safe for you to cross is red.
Rachel B: Red sprites always lie.

Ralph R: Only a blue sprite can make it safe for you to cross.
Ralph Y: The sprite who can make it safe for you to cross can only do so when the first letter of its name is the same as the first letter of its color.
Ralph: Unlike most other sprites, my sister's name doesn't start with the same letter as mine.

Yancy R: My sister lies when she is blue.
Yancy Y: There are eight of us, as you can see (the Guard's don't count). Four of us are boys, like me. Four are girls. We are four pairs of brother and sister.
Yancy B: Yellow sprits always tell the truth.

Yvonne R: Only a yellow sprite can it make safe for you to cross.
Yvonne Y: Only a red sprite can it make safe for you to cross.
Yvonne B: Only a red sprite can it make safe for you to cross.

If you ask a sprite "is it safe for me to cross" it will give a different answer based on its color & name. It will either answer "yes" or "no" (with extra words). This information is critical if you wish to solve it yourself

this puzzle is really neat, IMHO, i wish there were more like it.


however, that one puzzle where you have to say the right things in order to pass, very hard to get past. just saying.

When I was trying to collect all the information I accidentally solved the puzzle. It's so difficult trying to keep track of all the sprites moving around, that it would be less time consuming to ask everyone if it's safe for you to pass. If you collecting information from each one of every color and one of them will let you pass it's the same amount of clicks to solve the puzzle by chance as it is to collect the information. If they had just let them stay still while you were asking questions and didn't have them all fly away when you select the correct one to ask you if it was safe to pass, then this puzzle would be pretty decent and actually worth solving.

Exactly my thoughts. I love logic puzzles so this one would have been pretty fun to solve, but after 20-30 minutes playing lottery while struggling to click (and misclick) the different sprites, I decided it was just not worth it and resorted to a walkthrough. If only the sprites stayed at the same location, and/or once you learned their name the word "sprite" changed to said name, it would have been tolerable.

I can't make sense of it. You can assume Yellow always tell the truth and that might lead you to the answer. However, this is not the case:

Jane Y: My brother tells the truth when he is blue.

Jim B: The sprite who can make it safe for you to cross can only do so when the first letter of its name is different from the first letter of its color.

Which is the opposite of Red Ralph.

The only conclusion I could come to is that all three groups of colour lie some of the time.
