My Distribution is Gentoo Linux.

1. Downloaded the tar.gz file and untared it (tar xvf dragonsphere_1.0.0.1.tar.gz).

2. Installed libcaca (emerge libcaca), since dosbox seems to require it.

3. Started the game with ./start.sh and it runs beautifully.

THANKS GOG for the Linux Release.
I wasn't as successful as you are.

On my multi-monitor system, where the primary monitor is left and the secondary is to the right of it the game starts on the primary one but is shifted to the left and a chunk of it is cut off, making it not properly playable.
Multi-monitor can be really a PIA at times when software play wrong with. I was never able to use multi-monitors configs, since "not-finding-my-mouse" annoyed me too much to start with... ;-) ... But I love single big screen with a big resolution. I forsee a 4K in the future.

I assume if you disable the secondary monitor, that the game starts without issues?
it works great on mint 17.1 :) thanks gog
