why does GOG do this? there are way too many games that are behind in patches compared to Steam, KOTOR2 being another one, and im sure there are other examples as well. I have the game on Steam as well, but i wanted to install the gog version, up until the point i found out that its behind in patches. Why? Just why? Is it incompetence from GOGs side or from Capcoms side? Either way, it sucks and should not be an issue at all in the first place. As much as i like the idea behind GOG there are a lot of things they are doing wrong. Kinda disappointed actually...

I made a formal complaint about this once. GOG rep told me to direct it to the publisher, So I did.
The Capcom's representative thanked for the input and informed me that they will forward my case to ...someone - IOW fobbed me off kindly.

BTW Last I checked GOG has no means to simply develop patches at will, let alone forcing the publisher to make one available. If Capcom doesn't want it then patching is not happening.

well shit...:/
then why should i buy games on GOG if i always get an inferior version? There has to be something GOG can do for crying out loud. I understand they cant force Capcom, but they could annoy them with constant badgering or something. In my opinion both Capcom and GOG are at fault here. Man...sigh...
I'm not sure badgering a deveoper will have positive results. There's even a good chance they will simply pull the game.

I'd try Nexus mods and see if someone made a mod or unofficial patch to fix or at least minimize the effects of these issues. A lot of great modders, though this game is old by now and there may be a lot less active modders for it.

Oh yeah, sometimes it's not even the developers fault, it may be the publishers. I imagine sometimes companies buy the rights for a reason and then it's possible they cancel whatever they had intended (wether for budget reasons or some other reasonwe'll never understand).
