I recently deleted my old save and will start a new one later. I am curious if my old main pawn is still there. Is there a database we can get access to?

As I understand it, there's a unique online ID for each GOG account. The server will store your pawn's info every time you rest at an inn. If you've deleted the old save and start a new one then the new pawn will sync with the server and override the old one. So you can only ever have one pawn registered at a time and it will never be available for you to 'rent' since it's yours already. I asked about how one might do a full team of custom pawns, but never got a clear answer. I think you would have to have multiple GOG accounts in order for it to work.
The "whole team of custom pawns" was only really feasible for the console version. Basically, you get one pawn per save/account, and you could register several playstation accounts for free. So, technically, you still had to level up each pawn, but you did generate RCs and had full control over equipment, build and inclinations.

The PC versions are keyed to either Steam or GoG accounts and would require one game per account (granted, you can pick up the game for a bit more than a tenner, but still, there's extra costs here).

Given that RC values can be hacked in the PC versions and the game isn't anywhere near hard enough to actually require 3 "perfect" pawns, the only reason to do so is either "bragging rights" or "because I can!". Whatever floats people's boats these days.
