I have recently reinstalled my system.
And as usually I had to go through THE process.
Of reinstating my game(s). And by reinstate I mean "fixing" saving issues using Galaxy, as every time I'd simply instal DDDA and then run it, the game would return save corruption! Out of the blue.
Oddly, somewhere, somehow, running the game on the new system, for the first time, via Galaxy fixes the issue. From then on, and only then, my old saves magickally become "compatible". No need to use Galaxy anymore.
I wonder what is happening there, like in the background? Is this some way for GOG to "prop up" the otherwise uselss Galaxy client?
If it is, then it smells bad, like ...a DRM prosthetics or sumthjn. Ugh!
BTW Truth be told, the game is still usable freshly after installation: I could simply create a new save and play. But I don't tend to start over every time I have a new system. Also, I'd like to add that the save in question is pure offline one, never turned online, never used through Galaxy.
