Hey everyone, can anyone tell me if this game is playable and finishable without those patches? I know that without them one skill is bugged, one quest cannot be started if certain equipment was upgraded, better graphics are missing and I heard that online play is not working correctly. Now I'm not that interested in online aspect of the game, but can I play through the game in an enjoyable manner and finish it if I'll only play offline?
I've given up on Capcom ever bringing those patches to GOG, and I don't really want to buy the game again, this time on steam (it's less about steam itself, after all I have a library there too, as it is about not wanting to reward capcom for their scummy behaviour).

Yes the game is both playable & finish-able without those patches.
I'm not sure which skill is still bugged, I didn't notice it.
I finished the game at level 100 without ever going online.
The Trappings of Evil quest does still require you keep the 13 fabled Bitterblack armaments in their original state, but you are notified clearly when you get one, and even if you do upgrade them, there are ways around it.
For me the quest didn't complete when it should have, but just putting the 13 items in storage at the inn and then retrieving them was enough to complete the quest.

Even in offline mode, you will constantly get error messages that it can't connect with the server.
But it looks like Capcom abandoned it when it didn't sell as well as they hoped.
Ok thanks for the information olnorton. I can deal with those problems, so no sell for Capcom on Steam.
To be honest I would barely understand their behaviour if they didn't make any patches because the game sold poorly (cutting loses and all that) but they did create them so it required minimal effort on their part to push them to GOG. It only confirms what I always thought about buisness- once a company goes big it doesn't need to care for quality anymore, because it has dedicated fans that will always defend it. It's a rare gem if a company still does care after becoming big.

Look at it this way:
- back in the days the game supposedly sold below expectations
- it also had pretty dick -ish microtransactions
- still Capcom made (from the scraps after the vanilla cuts) and was selling the expansion
- but some issues like the certain Augment working the opposite it was intended wasn't fixed untill the PC port release
- and there's still a bunch of bugs, including another Augment still not working, waiting to be fixed. After all these releases!

I wouldn't call this caring.
I'm extremely sad capcom hasn't updated the game to match steam this is a game id happily buy on gog and i did but gog gave me a refund at least i just couldn't support it. If they patched it id gladly rebuy

yeah, and they could also add cross-play. Was possible with Borderlands 3, shouldn't be a problem with DDDA.
