I am having the problem where my game stops responding every time I finish character creation. I have lowered all my setting to nothing, reinstalled the game, and downgraded the game version to .17 . Nothing works. If I raise the settings, then it crashes at a sooner point in the prologue.
EDIT: The Gog to steam nexus mod does nothing to help either.

Don't use the outdated version. It won't help.

Also, don't install the game on C drive with lengthy installation path. Use something like
[drive letter]:\DDDA

Using any mods? Purge them, and any ENB, Reshade, hacking tool etc you have. Delete the game folder to be sure.

Also, does your GPU software tamper with the game? Remove any optimizations and enhancements applied to the game. Leave only framelimitter.

Direct X 9 and Ms Visual C++ 2010 instlled?

What does the crash message say? And what are your system specs?

There is no crash text because it just freezes up and I have to end the task or it locks up my desktop.
I have no mods or anything, and I'm back to the current version. I'll try again using your steps and we'll see what happens.
