Steam version had some problems with stuttering (even with Vsync on), with a lot of people trying to find fixes for it.

The game could go from +120 fps to 55 in a single door transition and even when showing high frame rate it would look stuttery.

Freesync didn't work on fullscreen because it seems the game doesn't really have an exclusive fullscreen mode (rather it's a borderless implementation).

Anyone who can check? I wouldn't mind buying again on GOG but not to have the same issues.

There's no performance issues with the Steam version, I even play with ENB and get constant 60FPS.

I got around 350 hours in the PC version and the game had troubles keeping consistent 60 fps, now I have a 144Hz monitor and the game goes wildly between 140 and 55.

With an i7-4790K, MSI 390 8 GB and 16 GB RAM.

well thats sad, but consider it is a console port and not a real pc game, maybe try to google for mods that solve the problem, like dsfix for dark souls 1

I've played a few hours so far on the GOG version and the only stuttering/slow down I've seen is the one time I alt+tabbed out for several minutes and then jumped back in...things were slow for about 3 seconds. I'm running most of the highest settings aside from the draw distance setting and one other minor cosmetic setting I don't care about. So far it's been smooth sailing.

I'm satisfied with my purchase so far. But if you're one of those super snobs when it comes to performance then I really don't know if you'll think it's good enough.

But! I believe I saw something about a 30-day money back thing on the GOG website while I was purchasing so that might be peace of mind for you.

He clearly is, cause like I said there's no problems with the Steam version. I have around 248h on Steam and never had stuttering.

I've a quite powerful PC, but the steam version run fine.

Playing on AMD R9-390X Strix, running smooth as hell. 1080p

~ Phenom II x4 955, stock 3.2GHz clock.

~ R9 380 4GB VRAM, slight overclock.

~ 8Gb RAM.

I've modded the game with high resolution textures and an ENB profile. Every graphical setting cranked up to max at 1080p and I still get a silky smooth 60 FPS. Maybe your CPU is causing the stuttering, maybe your RAM is, maybe the game doesn't play well with FreeSync setups.

dont have more than 250 friends or else the fps will go to hell

MIne works fine. Other then the server acccesing after saving at an inn being a bit slow for my net the game runs flawlessly.

32gb ddr4 2400 ram
GTX 1070
Sata 3 drive.

I have this problem too in the Steam version :( Would be great if they fixed the problem here and updated the Steam version!

I tried a lot of things and they all failed! My PC is not messed up cause every game I played had no problems just this one. Some ppl say it's a CPU problem where the game pushes a single core to the max or something and when it switch to the other ones it stutters but I really don't know since I'm no pro at this stuff.

I think it might be a super simple thing to solve but since it's a minority that has this problem ppl just don't care :(
