Setting all of this up will take an hour or two of your time, but it's well worth it and is absolutely necessary to play the game in 2024. None of these mods will make any meaningful changes to the vanilla gameplay outside of having your doggo as a fifth party member.

To install DAZips, use the built in mod manager (DAUpdater.exe) found in: /steamapps/common/Dragon Age Ultimate Edition/bin_ship/DAUpdater.exe

Use the "Chargen Package & Pineappletrees Vibrant Colors & CC Extra Tints and Tones" compatibility folder

Take the "chargenmorphcfg.xml" from the folder above
place it in your override folder
select "yes" when prompted to overwrite

If you are on Linux, I recommend installing all mods on a Windows system then manually transferring the game files over to your Linux box. DAZips are difficult to install on Linux as none of the mod managers are compatible with WINE. They search for registry keys that do not exist.
