Saw that this game was on the GOG Preservation Program list. It runs like crap on Steam, thought I'd pop in and ask if anyone's played it on here with any luck? I literally just hooked up my PS3 just to play this game. But would rather play it on PC.

Apparently, GoG messed up a bit by placing an empty file in the installer that makes it impossible to play the DLCs. It's easily fixable, but you have to know the problem is there:

If you don't want to download said file, then wait some more days, GoG staff is already on it.

tried to play it again like half a year ago but the ui is super small on modern resolutions

sadly nexus ui mods were outdated and didnt work
stopped playing after a while because of this
Guess the answer is no lol I opened the game up and it brought up the pop up that lets you start the game or go into the options and make adjustments. Then if you click Play the game doesn't launch. =\ Must be the only person experiencing this, since no one else has spoke about it.

A mod came out this year that updates the UI to 2k/4k. Nathanael's 4K resolution mod. That's your best bet.

I have the same issue. Just nothing happens, the exe disappears from running tasks in seconds. Tried running DAOrigins.exe directly, even as administrator, no luck. Tried the 4GB patch, disabling sound, changing graphics settings all around, nothing helped. Win11 Pro 23H2, i5 12400, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4.

I'm glad I'm not the only one (although I'm sorry it's happening to you too). I wonder if they'll ever fix it.

My first thought is that you are missing some required files. Do you have c++ 2005 installed? What about Nvidia Physx (Legacy)? That's usually the cause of issues like this.

Both of those are installed. Tried reinstalling them anyway, did not help unfortunately.

Does anyone know if this is fixed yet? I originally bought the game from Steam but there it was an absolute disaster to get it to work, even tried the LAA and 4GB mod things but it just didn't work. I was hoping to buy it from GOG due to their preservation program but now I'm reading that it still has crash issues on here as well. So can someone tell me if I should wait a bit longer to buy it or is everything fixed now?

As far as I can tell they have not fixed the issue with missing DLC yet.

Thus far and it's me and another poster that have the game on GOG, and when we press Play on it the game launcher opens. But if you click Play or go to the Options section, the launcher crashes and the game never opens. I don't know if this is a common issue or not, since not many are taking to the forums here to discuss the matter.

Okay, so it may not be very common I guess. Well thanks for the reply, I think I will wait and see if DA Origins will go on sale anytime soon and then buy it. In that way if I can't get it work it won't be that big of a deal.
