NextheCat: My download for Dragon Age Origins is crashing on any attempt to load a new game or save I got from a friend to try and circumvent the early story moments. I had this problem with the opening cinematic on ym old PC but any attempt to load the game or any DLC is meat with a crash on the loading screen.
Same, my Steam version worked last year, this year it wouldn't load any saves or be able to start a new game, so in the sale recently on GOG I got it on here but having the same problem, I use a handful of mods, npc overhauls I created myself with the toolkit and some romance cutscenes and 2 armour mods that have been in my load order for 5 odd years but either version is just totally unplayable all of a sudden, ctd on attempting to load any save, ctd after creating my character. I wonder if its a W10 update screwing with things, tried compatibility mode, lowering textures to potato pc levels, turn fullscreen off, repair the game, uninstall and reinstall, move to a different drive all to no effect. It has peeved me off can no longer do my yearly DA playthroughs and I doubt I'll be able to play it unless I go grab my old ps3 version and dust off the ps3.
My pc is a couple of years old but still damn good, got an i7 8700, Windows 10 home, 32gb RAM, 8gb ROG 1070 and the game is on a games only m.2 ssd drive. It just won't work.
