Is there a way to change the optics of a character after having started a game?

I created a character that looks really good in the preview, but in the intro I noticed I'd want to change something.
Impossible?
As I've saved and quit in the tutorial, can I import the character I created into a new game and then modify it?

You can't do anything with the face you have.

You could use this mod to change with a new face you create.

But a better way, is to create your character in the toolset, then you can make small adjustments on the fly, without having to start again from scratch.
I made a basic tutorial here.
