The game boots and goes through the splash screens. Then I enter the menu and the first area of the game. There is no music or sound effects at any point. I went through the troubleshooter and downloaded K-Lite, but I guess I don't know how it works cuz I still am not getting sound.

The general troubleshooting faq has been unhelpful. If anyone has any ideas on what to do, please let me know.

I faced the same problem. It turned out that my Windows speaker setup was set to 5.1 surround, even though I just have stereo speakers connnected. This also fixed the audio in Amerzone: The Explorers Legacy for me.

It's probably incredibly unlikely that anyone else will ever face exactly this problem, but nevertheless, that's what helped in my case.
