Just thought I'd post my fix in case anyone else has the same issue.
It runs perfectly fine on my desktop, but when I tried to run it on the laptop, all the videos and conversations were stuttering and running extremely slowly.
After trying numerous fixes, I figured out that the issue was that the laptop was by default choosing the onboard graphics to run the game, rather than the discrete graphics card. After changing this setting, it runs perfectly fine!
Either:
Right click on the game icon -> Run with graphics processor -> Select the discrete graphics card
Or:
Open the nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Program settings
Select the game from the list (or add it if it's not on there already), then select the discrete card as the preferred graphics processor, and click apply.
Hope this helps anyone else having the same issue!
