Please send us a Support ticket and attach your DxDiag and also a file called crash.dmp and the UserDefault.xml file, located at C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\ddtrilogy\.

I know it's frustrating when a game's not working, and you likely want to pull your hair out waiting for a fix so you can play it. But you have to give the GOG tech crew more than 14 hours to look into it and locate a solution (if one exists), yossibd. They're not on call and awake 24/7 after all.
I had this issue twice, 1st was after finishing a multiplayer session, the game was showing me the high score and game over screen and stopped responding.

I actually got the exact message listed in the topic after I reloaded the game played a bit and tried to quit.
I have this game installed on my desktop running Windows 7. The game runs fine with no problems. However, when I tried to install it on my laptop, which also runs Windows 7, I encountered the "unknown exception" error when I attempt to run ddtrilogy.exe. I'm running DirectX 11 on both machines. The desktop uses an NVIDIA GTX 260 card, while the laptop just uses onboard Intel HD Graphics 4600. I easily meet the hardware requirements on both machines, so I suppose the error is software-related?

For reference, on the laptop I had to install the 32-bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2012 in order to get by an error where the game said it required msvcr110.dll to run. After that is when the "unknown exception" error began.
I had the same error on Windows 8.1. GOG Support suggested updating DirectX which fixed it.

Hopefully this will help anyone else with this issue.. the error message isn't too descriptive.
