I bought Ultimate Doom recently and it was working fine but I've come up against a problem. A couple of seconds into gameplay my controls screw up. Instead of turning left or right I can now only strafe left or right. I looked to see if any of my keys were sticking and I checked the control options and kind find anything wrong.

It's quite difficult to get through a level when I can only move side ways rather than turning corners. Has anyone else encountered this? Please help.

Need more info than that. System specs? Laptop or desktop? Do you have Windows features like Sticky Keys turned on? What buttons are you using for turning left and right, and the strafe modifier? Are you using the original DOS game or are you using a source port (which is far more recommended these days)?
I suggest using a source port. I like GZDoom.

A source port still requires the game files, it just replaces the engine for graphics, sound, controls, etc. It also supports modern resolutions.

Here's a screenshot.
