Hello,

I was wondering if there was any "official" order you are supposed to play the Master Levels in. They are listed in alphabetical order, but the descriptions of some of the WADs suggested that certain creators wanted them played in a certain order.

Like the Black Tower WAD by Sverre Andre Kevernmo. The full description has him saying it is near of the end of his series, but doesn't list the order of the rest of them.

Thank you in advance for your help.

With Master Levels, there appears to be no definitive or official order. I don't think there ever has been. People (even the creators) have a different opinion on it, and even the console ports of Master Levels have been different. So there isn't an official order of levels. It's more up to what you want and how you want to play it.

If it helps at all, this Wiki page (http://doomwiki.org/wiki/Master_Levels_for_Doom_II#Level_progression) shows the orders for each port. Further, the unofficial patch on this page (http://maniacsvault.net/projects) will allow you to turn all of the separate level WADs into one WAD for the Master Levels as a whole and even allows you to choose the order of levels yourself.
There's also that the Master Levels were never designed to be a cohesive whole, and it's cobbled from bits and pieces of other series. For example, Kvernmo's levels were intended to be part of the Cabal series while Anderson's levels were part of the Flynn's levels were meant to be part of a Titan series, though who know what the order would have been.
