The game seems to run in stereo, do not hear anything from my rear speakers and I cannot find any audio option in the game to enable 5.1 sound or EAX?

EDIT: I mean in Doom 3 BFG edition, forgot to mention that in title.

The game automatically runs in 5.1 if your system is setup for it.

Check whether that is the case. Windows 7 for example loves to lose that setting on occasion (e.g. when the device is not available and it selects any other output device or when the sound driver gets updated) and resets it back to stereo.

Thanks, turned out that Windows knew I have 5.1 speakers but Creative drivers were set up for 2.0/2.1 speakers for some reason.
