So I bought this some time ago because, as with many old classics, I never beat it. So I started a day or so ago and made decent progress until I hit the final level on the moon.
I kill the barons or Hell Knights, I forgot their names, and step into the teleporter and is promptly killed.
Now I recall there being more levels to play and the end game text even suggest this to be true. So did I do something wrong or is there more to the game?

Never mind. I'm just a fucking moron that forgot the episode select screen when you start a new game. >_< I just assumed it would automatically start Episode 2 at the conclusion of Episode 1.

No worries. While I was aware that I had to select the next episode, that "ending" confused me the first time I played through the game, maybe six months ago, as well. Just goes to show that they really didn't care much about story :)

Confused the hell out of me at first too, then suddenly it clicked: Get killed at the end of Episode 1, Episode 2 is 'Shores of Hell,' makes perfect sense actually :D
