Got it added for free into my account, so that's a nice thing.
Easy installation, easy to navigate.
QoL features are nice, screenflashing disabled by default is interesting but might disable some feedback on item pickups and hits for players.
High contrast text puts every text in ugly black boxes, is enabled by default. Also an interesting choice but less positively so.
Only did play DOOM 1 E1 so far to get a feeling for the game, and it feels smooth and nice. Looks to be a good if slightly inaccurate port.
Pinkys felt a little tankier than usual, felt I got less 2 hit kills with the shotgun than usual. Couple of enemies got stuck in pathfinding, like 2 spectres getting stuck on nothing in Phobos Anomaly, or Imps not correctly waking up from nearby gunfire. Pathfinding seems to work a little different as well. In E1M9 Pinkys surrounded me but ran around more when they should have bitten me.
Can't really comment on wallrunning or rocket jumping yet, not enough experience in the new game with it, but you can get stuck on walls while wallrunning, same as source ports.
Hope the remaster fixes some trigger issues I had with Sigil in GZ DOOM where a line trigger not triggering correctly would lock me out of completing a map.
The additional qol and accessibility features are nice but as of now I'm not sure it will beat the indepth customizations of source ports, but it's a nice version to have.
Reckon that purists and speedrunners might have some issues with this one, and the pathfinding / enemy behaviour things that I have encountered can be fixed in a patch.
Overall, positively surprised with this release.
