The game played fine through level 4 (the focus) and then it hung on the level end screen. I rebooted my computer, restored save, and was able to proceed to the next level, which I played right away. Then at the end screen of level 5 (waste tunnels) it hung again.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks much for any insights anyone may have!

I think I figured out the problem.

It appears that only one key (the "use" key) can be pressed to clear the level end screen and proceed to the next level. By default this is an intuitive key (spacebar). It appears that this key must be pressed (i.e. there is no timeout).

I had changed the keyboard layout to use the delete key for "use" because I'm using my mouse left handed and switched the movement from WASD to the arrows, and delete is right about the arrows, much closer than spacebar.

When the game appeared to be hung, I was banging on all sorts of keys like ESC, spacebar, enter, but probably not delete.

Problem hasn't occurred since I started pressing the "use" key at the level end screen.
