I just purchased Doom BFG Edition. On the store page it says "As a special bonus, DOOM 3: BFG Edition will also include the original DOOM and DOOM II games, making it the definitive collection of the revolutionary games developed by id Software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre."

I did not get access to Doom or Doom II. They are NOT included. Is this normal ? Am I missing something ? Why does it state they are included when they are not ?

Was this possibly a promo before BFG was released and somehow was overlooked and not removed from the stores description?

Should I seek a refund because everything stated that was included, is not ?

Odd.

Thanks for any info

There is a bit of confusion there. Yes they are included however for Doom 3 BFG they are actually apart of the game itself in the games menu. Your purchase of BFG Edition does NOT include the versions of DOOM 1 & 2 on the GOG store.

The difference between the versions in the BFG edition of Doom 3 and the standalone products is minimal, unless you're particularly fond of the Red Cross being visible on the medpacks instead of a particularly ugly looking pill as a replacement.

Even then, I think (but am not certain, I should add) that you can potentially take the WADs out of the BFG edition and mod the cross back in.
Thanks. Indeed, they are both accessible from the main menu of BFG. I'm not sure how I missed that.
