So I don't know how many people are having trouble with Doom 3 BFG on Windows 10, but I ran across a source port for Doom 3 BFG edition called RBDoom3BFG. It works with the GOG release of Doom 3 and it works very well on the 2 machines I have at home. If you have trouble with the GOG release of Doom 3, give this a try.

Someone already made this thread, though the links they brazenly posted to pirate the original version of the game's files are no longer active. The rest of the information in it is still useful, however.

Ah, didn't notice that. It's currently on page 3.
No love for DOOM BFA? :'(

The game specific forums don't often see a lot of activity, outside of the small number of games that are popular like GWENT (which has its own forum hosted away from GOG) and a select number of others - but a very small number just the same.

Oooohhh...didn't know about that port! :) Thanks!
I tried it out. I had to turn of hdr and soft shadows among other things, but it got it running well once I did.

I've always wished Doom 3 were lighter though. The dark areas are pitch black, which isn't realistic or scary, it's just impossible to see.

So, using RBDoom3 BFG, I played around with console commands until I found one that let me set the ambient light level. It looks much better now:

Does this port include high-res textures?
There are many high-res packs. Which one is the best one?
