I'm trying to update my copy of Don't Starve (basic edition, no DLC). The Klei Updater installed a new version of itself (version 22, I believe?), and starts updated from game version 100795 to version 110570.

About halfway through, this message comes up, and the update will no longer continue;

C:\Users\James\Documents\Klei\DoNotStarve\UpdaterCache\bin\dontstarve.exe failed hash validation even after update

This is from a fresh download and install of the game directly off of GOG. I have no idea what is wrong or how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

The automatic update to version 22 of the Updater is correct, that's the current version.

However something is glitched in the newest update, I ran into the same issue.
I was able to solve it, by running the updater's file consistency check several times.

Go to the game's installation folder, into this subfolder: ..\Don't Starve\updater\22\
Right-click updater.exe and select the option to run it as an administrator.
Let it check its things and then open the "File" menu and select "Check Consistency".
It may download some files, so give it the time until its out put says:
"Patching files..."
"Validating files..."

If thereafter it doesn't state
"Consistency check completed."
"Everything looks good."
run the check again until it does.

Agreed. :)
What about a solution for mac users?
I have no idea about Mac (sorry), but current GOG Linux version for classic DST(no DLCs) is 171894 and I use no updater, because its GOG's job.
