Hello all,

I am trying to run the updater for Don't Starve (PC) - updating from 78490 to 80753. It seems to be going well until it get so file 363/1222 (dontstarve.exe) when i get the error message:

I've tried various things I've found in other threads - running as administrator, trying updater from different Windows user, deleting Klei updater folder, renaming updater.exe.manifest, etc - all to no avail.

Any idea how to fix this and apply the patch?

Thanks!
I'm getting the exact same error down to the hash codes on two different computers, and likewise tried and failed all the other methods, and even did a full reinstall just to check, no dice. Any help would be appreciated, some of the newer updates looked pretty cool.
I had the same problem and tried a few things. I think what finally fixed it for me was to use the "check consistency" option in the update app (on a Mac it's under the file menu, not sure about windows). It complained about a ton of files and then downloaded new ones. It seems to have been updated and is working so far.
Awesome, that seems to have done it. Thanks!

Oh, and it's in the same place on the Win7 version.

Thanks! Check consistency fixed it.
Hash error means, that dontstarve.exe doesn't look like it should.

Three reasons come up to mind:

1. Simple download error
2. Harddisk read/write error => check it
3. A virus altered the file (.exe-files are popular targets) => check it
