shmerl: Too bad. Developers shouldn't use lock-in. Not Galaxy, not Steamworks - developers should use something that's not tying them to any distributor. If they can't develop proper network features, they shouldn't make multiplayer games.
tanek: A year ago I was told by Klei that "We're still hammering out the details regarding players who purchased from GOG at the moment." I never heard back on what, if anything, was determined. I emailed them again now that DST is out of development.
Never before have I felt that purchases through GOG were unsupported compared to other retailers.
If anything I would say only compared to Steam. If you ask me I would call it favoritism.
I've not seen any better support at any other retailers, unless that retailer was selling Steam keys.
It just seems to me that there are some developers/publishers out there who are afraid of putting their games out anywhere else than Steam.
Do anyone recall Klei ever mentioning or even hinting at DST coming to GOG or even other retailers at all? It's been so long I don't even remember.
