Topic is the question - Will it run on a Mac with OSX 10.12.6 with a 3ghz Intel i7 and Intel Iris graphics? Forum hunting hasn't gotten me any obvious answers but I've seen a few references to "crash on startup" bugs for 10.12 and I want to be sure before I buy it. I hope there's a workaround or fix because I'm really curious for this to be my next game after finishing up BG:EE.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Yes, it should.
There is a known issue in OSX since Sierra which will cause the Classic version of the game to crash on startup, but unless you are wanting to try specific mods that were not updated, there is little reason to play the original release.

The Enhanced Edition added:
- fully voiced dialogue
- some balancing changes to the skill system, dual wielding, wands and grenades
- a rewritten ending, small epilogue area and some additions and changes to quests and dialogue throughout the game
- graphical improvements and engine optimizations
- controller support, local (dynamic) split screen co-op (when using 2 controllers)
- and lots more

Thank you very much for the info! FWIW, just bought the EE version and it runs fine with my specs, in case anyone else has the same question. Looks like it's going to be fun... :D
