So bought downloaded and installed Divinity 2 cos of the summer sale...

And the game launched fine, no problems there. But the game itself has a really irritating problem for me - it doesn't make the game unplayable as such but the problem is so annoying that I quit about about 15/20 minutes of play. Suffice to say I am not very far in game because of it.

The problem is the PC catches on the ground while running.

Any time there is even the slightest incline the player character will "catch" on it and momentarily get stuck. While I can continue on, it results in the PC running with an odd stuttering gait in a strange zig zag pattern all over the place.

And the really annoying thing is the NPCs can walk and run just fine without getting stuck anywhere.

It's most frustrating.

Came into the (second) village at the start of the game and I literally couldn't pass through the gate because my PC got stuck on the little slope there. I was holding forward and he was running from side to side along the bit of slope he was stuck on until eventually he managed to get over it.

I did a search online for this problem and... there doesn't appear to be any similar reports so I am at a loss to explain it. I don't want to have to jump everywhere in this game.

Anyone got any ideas?

There are a few suggestions and links in the Larian forum topic Can't run up any sort of incline, just walk.
Thanks.

It appears to be related to the stuttering problem...

Everything is fully updated, and I have a pretty decent computer (runs ME3 on Ultra and Skyrim on Medium without problems) and I was running on "high" graphics settings with this problem occuring.

I did the things suggested but still had to lower the settings to "low" in order to get the game to run decently. Even with the suggested "fixes".
It still stutters occasionally but not so much now that the game is unplayable.

Not really surprising since this game uses the Gamebryo engine, not your (Larian) guys fault but that engine is a horribly optimised engine.
