1) The readme states that "true sight damage" actually works in this version. I assume it means "true shot", right ?

2) Is "augment damage" only for melee attacks, or also for ranged ones ?

Yes, the readme should read True Shot, rather than True Sight. True Shot was fixed in the original 1.004a download release, but unfortunately broken again with the current 1.005a update (1.005a problem).

Augment Damage only works for melee attacks.

Even without a damage bonus skill, archery is still very effective (especially combined with Poison Weapon).
Yeah, I accidentally became an archer, after having taken a bow as a temporary weapon. Now I'm becoming an expert at it, and I'm doing well with that. So, just maximising it.

In cRPGs, I generally avoid builds that rely on ammunition, be it bullet, darts, arrows, potions, etc, but for some reason you don't need arrows in Divine Divinity (I have found a couple of arrows, not sure what they exist for). So it turned up to be even more comfortable than mana-dependant ranged attacks. Only thing that gets depleted is stamina, as I run around a lot, and I consider putting a few points in the "elven stamina" skill.

For the same reason, I don't use poison weapon a lot : I would need to get out of my way to find enough poison potions. These don't come to me as spontaneously as other, dropped, potions (health, stamina, magic, etc). For this, I'm thinking of developping "poisonned arrows", which only uses mana, but I've heard it's too weak to be worth it. So I guess I'll keep relying on brute kinetic force for now - with the rare occasionnal help of a bit of magical freeze.

Anyway, thanks for the answer.

You can create your own poison with mushrooms :)
Aha. I'll see that when I'll have alchemy skills. Don't want to spend much on that for now (and I hear it can be taught somewhere anyway).

Also found a cave where orks were stocking poison barrels. I may drop a teleporter stone there, if I can use it...
With my warrior I had problems running out of stamina early in the game, and considered learning Elven Stamina, but raising my constitution a bit mostly alleviated that problem. I didn't do a lot of running around during combat, though (just exploring, back and forth to NPCs or from teleporter pads/stones to merchants, etc), and if I had a ways to go sometimes used a frog statuette (which is fast even if you are encumbered, and recovers stamina relatively quickly).

Alchemy is also helpful to make restoration potions.

If you can fill empty potion bottles with those poison barrels (never tried), you can just move them to your home base rather than placing a teleporter stone there for access. Click on open barrels to close them (depending on the type of barrel, and make sure you are not in combat mode) before moving them, or place them in a container rather than on the ground. At least some open poison barrels will break when drag and dropped on the ground, releasing a cloud of poison.
