must be the Gog.com corporate slogan.
It should be criminal to sell anything with this many bugs.
You must be aware, that all other online versions (e. g. Impulse one) have pretty much the same buggy version? And that patch is already on it's way?
This game is a gem of rare brilliance. It's awesome even with all the current bugs. And after those are finally squashed, what remains is of pure gold and win.

I agree, DD is one of the most unique RPG's I have found . . . out of MANY that I have played. I enjoyed it so much that I continued to play, in spite of the bugs, until I had finished it. It kept drawing my back . . . Really looking forward to playing through without bugs. . . .=)
I hope people aren't downvoting bearcat just for this post. He is essentially correct that this version of the game should never have been released. I loved it, but the bugs made it agonizing to play. Thank goodness that there is a patch coming, but again, this version should have been patched before we paid money for it, or there should have been a disclaimer on the purchase page saying that it does not run properly (unlike all other games I've ever purchases at GOG).

bearcat has a higher rep now than he had when he made his first post in this forum. I believe, if you read his posts, you will see that all efforts have been made to offer help with his install/game play. Any down voting he may have received was not in the DD forum . . . just so you know . . .=) . . . I don't believe the DD forum rolls like that . . . Edit 2: His down votes came from similar posts he has made elsewhere. . . so . . .
Edit: I agree, as most everyone playing DD would, with what you say. I also believe that the bugs were totally unexpected by both GOG and Larian and that they are doing everything they can to fix it asap. Fortunately I have several games, as most folks do, to keep me busy while I wait on them to make it right . . . =)

If it's crashing that often for you then I hate to say it, but you're just unlucky. Larian was nice enough to promise us a patch; support for a game this old is pretty uncommon.
If it really bothers you, go pick up Sacred Gold like some of us did to hold you over (yet I still haven't had time to play...). That patch is apparently coming soon.
You might want to try running it in GNU/Linux via Wine. I haven't had a single crash, nor noticed any major bugs at all, and I've nearly finished the game.

You didn't even have the church (NW of the cursed abbey) crash? I don't think I've heard of anybody lucky enough to avoid that one!

I did not have any problems in the church either; no spinning and the priest was waiting patiently in the confessional :-)

Just thought I would mention how the rep works on GOG. If you make one post a day . . . you get one rep point with no rep points awarded for any other posts made on the same day. If you post is up-voted by enough folks you can get more reps per day. If you solve a question you will get 5 rep points. Hope you can use the info . . .

Elwin....no offense, dude, but look where you're from.
Lithuania? I mean, come on!
Pardon me if I'm mistaken, but weren't you pretty much under the boot of the Soviets since 1945? Meaning your economy, infrastructure and culture have been primitive ever since, to put it mildly? When you praise a game as adequate, it is like a beggar saying that the bread is okay because it only has a FEW maggots. Here in the United States, we have slightly higher standards.
As for other sites selling a buggy version, well, your logic is just FLAWLESS....that makes it 100% okay for Gog to ALSO rip people off, right?
Oh, and that patch you say is coming? Take a look at the boards, and see when it was announced. I wouldn't hold your
breath waiting for a patch, since it has been "coming" for YEARS.
If you think this game is a "gem" I've got a used Yugo to sell you........

Stuff, you are proactive, succinct, thoughtful and very helpful. I appreciate your assistance. However, I couldn't care less about my "Rep" or anyone else's.
Popularity is usually a measure of how cowardly and dishonest a person is, not how intelligent or useful their comments are.
When I shout out "The Emperor Has No Clothes!" and people vote me as unpopular, all they are doing is proving that they are moronic sheep. You can't make something untrue by hating the truth-teller.

I'm sorry, you're calling yourself intelligent and useful here, yet you're disregarding someone's opinion because they are from Lithuania?
Seriously, just stop posting Troll. You're too clever for these forums and games.

I've actually been curious about that and searched the general forum but didn't find anything. Thanks for posting that info.
