I can't find Tom's body and more importantly, I can't find the waypoint. Please can someone help?

Look for a 'Corpse' near the end of the rock path, before the ground changes to moss and dirt; it is at the coordinates (x:580, y:76), as shown below the mini-map.
You can go through the tunnel; head all the way to the back (past where the fight started), and go left.

Do you get an error or do you just return to the forum not logged in, or logged in on the main forum page, but logged out if you open any individual forums or forum groups?

Try a different browser, and/or clear the cache in the browser you are using, along with any larian.com related cookies.
