The frog statuette likes to crash the game for me. I've tried it four times, and so far I've had two crashes, a fun time as a frog, and another crash. Has anyone else has a similar experience, or...?
For me the game crashes EVERY time I try to use any statues (frog/cat)... Any solution??

This happens to me as well would love any input.
We (Larian and GOG) are working on an update to fix this crash (and some more crashes that have been reported here).

Thanks DeathKnight (and Gog)!
larian is awesome! hooray for larian they are now my favorite studio
by the way DD is an amazing game. i have not been so immersed in a game since Baldurs Gate... and i am far more immersed today than i ever was in baldurs gate.
i really like how eating food actually does something for once. the roast pig is hilarious!
food is so simple, and really so minor... but it makes the game seem so much more real, and i feel like a rich nobleman treating himself to a feast when i have a roast pig all to myself...
my only gripe (because I am an ungrateful wretch) is that i cannot feed the dog....=)
Any news on the patch, and when it should be made available?

Will the patch be available for people who have the boxed copy as well?
Also I saw in another post that you removed the software render option. Didn't that allow some people to work around driver bugs? (I seem to recall it being recommended for working around some bugs and for use under wine... I should find out where my copy is and install it again...)

They won't need it, as the problems it aims to fix are present only in remastered edition.
I believe most/all crashes are the result of Larian/GOG trying to give us a game with multiple high res capabilities. Good for us, problems for them. Glad they decided to do so, seems like a new release with the res update (bugs not counting)
i can agree with this hypothesis. several times when i crashed in 800x600 i was able to work around it (sort of) by switching to 640x400. it would sitll crash, but it would allow me a few moments more of time before the crash, long enough for me to kill whatever would trigger the crash and save. then reload, back to 800x600...
DD is by far the best action rpg that ive ever played, and that includeds baldur's I and II. and icewind. possibly only torment being an equal.
larian, if you ever need ideas on what makes a great action rpg, please look back at this game. the amount of freedom, and things that just are fun, is astonishing and refreshing.
(and yes i know it's 7 years old)
that said.... gasp* hack* cough*** ... sputter..* need .... patch.... dying...out...here

If you click on a statue, you become the critter it represents. You also gain some of the characteristics, speed etc. You could become a cat or spider and scout ahead without enemies noticing I'm told.
Most people, myself included, get an immediate CTD if we try to activate a statue. Save BEFORE you try it.
