I have a 1280x1024 monitor and my desktop resolution is set to 1280x1024 too
but when i start the game on these exact resolutions it is not WIDE enough to see everything
any help would be appreciated. Thnx

Set your desktop size/position in your graphics card control panel to 'Aspect Ratio' and 'Scaling on GPU'.

In the '..\Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition\Shipping' folder, right click the EoCApp.exe program file and select Properties, switch to the Compatibility tab and check the option to disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
Windows 8 has some display scaling options, as well.

Did you try other resolutions, or switch to a windowed mode?
