I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the maximum strength and agility requirements are for melee weapons, shields and armor. I've been pumping my strength and agility up and leaving my vitality fairly low in order to be able to use some of the nicer weapons and armor I found, but at this point I want to start putting more into another stat. At the same time, I don't want to get into a situation further down the track where I can't use some of the best melee weapons and armor when I find them because I don't have the stats. I'm thinking of late in the game. Is there a maximum in strength and agility after which you have the stats to use all of the best melee weapons, shields and armor in the game?

AFAIK, the stats for weapons / armor is random although they seem to stay about the same from game to game. Here is a link which lists some of the better weapons / arrnor / items in the game. I found that getting good weapons and armor was not a problem . . . at least for me. I always seemed to be at the required level / stats to use what I found. When I couldn't use a weapon or armor I stashed it in the house located in the upper right corner of Aleroth until I could use them.

I liked the fact that I was not constantly looking for weapons / armor since what I found was usually great. Add the right charms and you can control many stats for the weapon or for your character. I would find a nice helmet with five charm slots and add only intelligence charms to that item. In other words I raised many of my stats using charms while applying those hard to get points where I felt they would do the most good.

In the past two games I find myself using the same sword (Blade of Chaos) for almost the entire game, in my current game I have finished most of the Wastelands topside without finding a better weapon. Weapons and armor are important in DD but not so much that they take away from the quests and story. I enjoy that since I am free to explore and follow the story. Hope this helps . . . =)
