I'm very much considering buying this. Part because it's Belgian glory (national pride much), but mostly cause it's an amazing game. However, the only reason i haven't bought it yet is because i'm currently living in Asia and i'm stuck with a mediocre laptop sporting a gt 540m. Despite it's age, it still manages to keep most of the older generation games quite playable.
I was wondering if anybody here is playing this on a laptop with a gt 540m and could tell me how it really performs and the settings you're playing on.

My laptop is an Aspire 5750g with an i5 2410M, 4gig and a gt 540m.

That graphics card is a little below the minimum specification for the game.
Just before and after release, one person with that card mentioned getting 20FPS on medium, but didn't specify resolution; another replied they got 20 in some places, but usually 30 FPS, and they would get 30 everywhere with AA disabled (here).
A couple people reported ground texture issues with that card, one fixed by an update and the other saying it was fixed, but not specifying how. They didn't mention performance, so it must have been playable.
Another person here didn't specify FPS, but said it ran "quite well" at 1920x1080.
