I'm generally enjoing the game.
The disagree mechanics, even in single play, is very interesting.
Combat is ok. Skills are ok, ecc.

So, to the point ... I'm referring purely to story and story elements in general.

I found more and more difficult to enjoy these games that sports such an high level of fantasy, multidimensionality and whateveer that the story becames just an execuse to go around and doing stuff.

I don't want to give spoiler but the game is too muc filled with cliche'
I understand that they get insipiration from Ultima VII and other buch of games, but... nothing original?
it does seem to be a bit cliched but i think the developers intended the game to be humourous (as with their previous games) and to be taken in a lighter vein. im barely into the game and there are times ive LOLed nicely!! :) the writing is good and sharp, though i can see why some people might say that the story isn't gripping enough for them.
Every area in the game is part of the world of Rivellon; you aren't actually hopping between planes or the like, though how it all connects might not be apparent until you're a ways into the game.

The story is using a number of classic tropes, although it does put an unusual spin on certain ones. (I'm not being specific so as not to spoil anything.) It's about the take on those ideas (especially the tongue-in-cheek element that Larian is known for) and the development of the characters as they deal with them.
