lordhoff: does GoG sell "Original Sin"?
Raze_Larian: Not directly, but if you buy the EE there is a link in the library entry to contact GOG support to get the original release added to your library.
.
lordhoff: will load in 3days 57minutes
Raze_Larian: Depending on when the DVD was produced it may require a large or small update before you can play. If your connection in general isn't slow, maybe try later in case your IPS is having issues or restricting some traffic.
In the client, in the Steam menu select Settings, then Downloads, and try changing your Download Region.
Try logging out of Steam, exit the client, reboot, start Steam again, log in, and see if that helps.

lordhoff: (whatever that is)
Raze_Larian: The Enhanced Edition added:
- fully voiced dialogue
- some balancing changes to the skill system, dual wielding, wands and grenades
- a rewritten ending, small epilogue area and some additions and changes to quests and dialogue throughout the game
- graphical improvements and engine optimizations (it is 64 bit, rather than 32 for the original release, and in Windows uses DirectX 11 rather than 9c)
- controller support, local (dynamic) split screen co-op (when using 2 controllers)

lots more Thanks. I took a hard line with EE because I already spent quite a bit on the game and still have no idea of how much I'll like it. I bought it originally because it was on a list of best ever RPGs but I really know little about it.
My I-net connection is not very fast - I live in a remote area which is cableless so I use Hughesnet satellite. However, generally, I have no trouble downloading games as long as I do it between 2:00 AM and about 6:00 AM (PST).
I assume the DVD was produced in 2014 as that is the copyright date and it was purchased in May 2015. I just wished that I had checked here first - likely would have just bought the EE and I'd be a lot happier right now (providing GoG was actually selling it in May 2015). I'm not sure how I would apply an upgrade when I can't even get it to install completely (it's not listed in "all programs" or "program files (86)" - yes, I still have Win7 :) . I will try again tonight if I'm still awake at 0200 hr.
