I've got problem with the music. It doesn't change when I enter Farmland, Verdistis or Blue Boar Inn locations. Aboveground I can hear only 2 tracks over again and it's slowly driving me crazy.
I'm playing the 1.05A version (downloaded just a few days ago, so it's the newest one - there wasn't any patches on the page from what I saw).
I've never encountered this problem while playing the CD version, so it shouldn't be a problem with my pc.
Reinstalling doesn't work, just as beginning a new game. I also tried to swap the "sound" folder with the one from the CD version but with no effect.
The music was one of the vital parts of DD gameplay, so I miss it quite much.
And I'm quite upset because I have got already the CD version and, wanting to play the upgraded version, bougth the GOG game.
So, any ideas?

You didn't mention your OS but if you are running Vista / Win 7 here are some things to consider -
- make sure you turn UAC off prior to installing the game.
- make sure you installed the game by right clicking the setup.exe and clicking "Run as an administrator" in the resulting dialog.
- make sure you have right clicked the game shortcut, clicked Properties, click the Compatibility tab and check "Run this program as an administrator".
- On Win 7 especially, it is best to install in a directory outside of Program Files.

If you don't install the game as an administrator (right click the setup.exe) it may not install correctly since some disk writes are blocked. This can cause several problems and the one you are having. UAC can also block installs (even if you install as an admin) when you install in the Program Files directory.

Make sure you uninstall the game prior to reinstalling it. Also, delete all directories and files under C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Divine Divinity prior to reinstalling. If your CPU is a dual core you might try setting the affinity for the game to a single core. You can do this manually first (see attached image) or use RunFirst do it automatically. . . . =)

I'm using Windows XP.
I tried reinstalling and launching as an administrator and I used RunFirst (by attaching it to the shortcut) but it still doesn't solve the music problem :(

I would make sure my sound drivers are the latest. Sounds like a codec problem.

I updated my sound drivers (I have Realtek AC97 card) but still no effect :/

I don't have a solution for your problem at the moment, sounds like a codec problem but I'm not sure. I can't duplicate the problem myself. I will continue to look for a solution.

In the mean time, you should open a help ticket with GOG support . . . =)

I, too, seemingly have this problem. Not sure what's up with that.

I'm going to remain checking this thread and the one at the Larian forums for the next few days, see if we can come up with anything.

We can't be the only people out there who have this problem.

I have the same dang problem, hopefully I will be able to figure it out.

I have the same problem with GoG Divine Divinity on three different systems: Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. CD version of the game runs fine on all three (music changes when it's supposed to).

Seeing that there is no commonality between my three rigs in terms of OS, processor, or soundcard/drivers, I strongly suspect this is just a problem with the remastered version of DD. Those that don't notice it may not realize just how varied the music was in the pre-1.05 version of the game.

Could be as I have not played the CD version in years. Only place I really notice a problem is in the taverns, just not the right sounds there IMHO. It would be great if this could be fixed but I doubt it will be revisited . . . =)

Edit: Should add, my install plays many tracks throughout the game as opposed to the OP's two track install.
