Are there any mods or Unofficial patches I should be downloading for any game of this series?
There are unofficial font enlargement patches for the first two games. The disk version patches ( / [url=http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=375045&an=]BD) need to be updated for the download versions of the games (DD).

There was a third party texture mod for the original release of D2:ED, but AFAIK it is not compatible with DKS / D2:DC.

That's pretty much it for patches/mods.

I would assume that the steam version of the mod wont work with the gog version becuase its in a batch and the batch would have to be changed to work with the gog version correct? AT least that is what I am getting out of this whole thing.
The Steam version is what went into the anthology (possibly with additional bug fixes; I haven't installed it yet), which is what the GOG version was updated to. While I have not tested it, I'd say the batch file modified for the Steam version should work fine with the new GOG version.

The problem with the disk version of the batch file was that in the download version of the game Larian changed the folder structure for the game. The disk version had most of the game files and folders in the '..\Divine Divinity\run\' folder; the download version got rid of the 'run' folder and moved its contents up. That isn't the case with the different download releases.
Seem to have forgotten about the use of relative paths and all that.
