I downloaded the latest setup, the update and the german language patch. The update says that the game is already patched. Which seems ok. The language patch does not work, because it says "Wrong version". Any ideas?
The patches check the registry for the install path and game version, so I'm not sure what the problem is. The game patch at least found the expected information, but for some reason the language pack didn't.

A few people with the previous GOG version have had problems with the game patch giving an error, and downloaded the full install.

I'm going to try a language patch on a different computer...
Well, the problem doesn't seem to be with the registry entries. If the patch can not get the install path or game version the error should be given right away.

I installed DD and then tried the French language pack. It appeared to start the install and the progress bar went to the end, but then it gave the error "installed version is not compatible with the patch".

Have you contacted GOG already?
I also applied a language pack and it showed an error at the end.
Yet when I started the game, it had changed from English to German, so apparently it can also work despite the error notification.

Yep, i can confirm this. The installer gave me an error, but the game is now in german. I can live with that :)
Oops, I guess I should have started the game again, to make sure the language pack installer wasn't lying to me.
Is it correct that Beyond Divinity doesn't have any German voice overs except the intro movie? Subtitles are localized, but the voice in game remains in English.
Yes, that is correct. Beyond Divinity was not voiced in German.
We know about patcher, the cause is the same as here:

Sorry for that, we address it (hopefully) soon. For now, if the game starts localized, it means that pack was installed properly.

Thanks for your response. The German voices from Divine Divinity were very bad, so I don't think anyone should be sad about this matter. Anyway, thanks for giving us the language updates on GOG (the German localization of Divinity 2 was a very good one with great actors) and thanks for the many extras, especially the lovely soundtracks. :)
