I see it is on sale is it worth the buy? Are there any game breaking bugs? And like the title is it good?

Yes, and yes it is good, IMNSHO. I bought the original disk version the day it was released (having played the demo earlier), and the download version was the reason I signed up to GOG.

As for bugs, do not do any of the following:

- enter the castle early (without an invitation), talk to Janus and accept a quest (normally you will be stopped if you try to get in early, but there are a couple ways around that)
- explore the Verdistis sewers with a low spiritual resistance and overwrite your only save after triggering a polymorph trap (there are 2 such chests, one you have to use the teleporter stones to get to)
- skip opening the Aleroth catacombs at all

and you will not run into any consistent game breaking bugs. Periodic saves would help in most cases if you happen to run into any random bugs or issues. I played half my first game in the unpatched original release, and the only issue I had was fixed in a patch.

It is a good game, however it can be a little hard to get into at first. Raze pointed you to some starter tips that I'd suggest you read.

Initially it will appear to be yet another Diablo clone, and it certainly has similarities. However you'll soon see the differences as well. Firstly, there are no respawns, so not only does that mean that you will end up with some very empty areas, it also means that there is a finite amount of XP available to you for levelling, so you have to be more stategic with who you kill.

I seem to remember that when I played the original disk version, I played as a mage, and charged down the orc encampment with a freeze spell and a load of mana potions. This mean't that because they were so much higher level than me, I quickly levelled up way past all the other creatures around, and then had little fun just destroying eveything else on the map (until I reached areas where the level got back into sync).

Another main way it differs from Diablo is that this has a proper story, and is a good lead into Divinity 2 (later rebranded to "The Dragon Knight Saga"). Which is well worth playing.

So, yes it's a good game, if you like Diablo style games. However it's not quite like Diablo.

The interface/controls are similar to Diablo, but (as you noted) Divine Divinity has a better story and quest design, with no respawning. It also has better music (IMO), world interaction, atmosphere, humour, etc. You can safely leave things on the ground, or collect chests to sort your loot into.

When I tried the demo before the disk version was released, just the NPC and world interaction around the starting village, and the few small quests there, were enough to quickly place it apart from Diablo (which I got bored with and never finished). An encounter in the catacombs turned it into a day one purchase for me.
Late to answer but anyway.

It isn't as solid than last version of Divinity 2. Dungeons tend be too long if not too huge, particularly the first one give a wrong point of view of the game.

But once you leave the town then you get the real quality of this RPG with multiple dynamic events including dynamic NPC encounters, many cool quests with cool puzzling, good mood, good NPC, good living, quite good exploration, and more. This is a big great part which is among the best RPG done. Alas during the final chapter the quality drop down brutally, it's ok, but no way at same quality level. Just for the big larger part it's a must for any RPG player.

In my opinion a significant point is to have the best fights ie with the more diversity, the best character is from far the mage character. I only tried the female mage character but I think the male mage character is close enough to also brings that benefit.
