I don't know why you missed this for GNU/Linux version. GNU/Linux allows to have many mouse cursors, so maybe just allows players to play with two mouse instead of PS4/XBOX controller (multiplayer mode)? I know SDL/SDL2 libraries doesn't support this, but maybe that not a problem (just asking)?
