So,according to the walkthrough here when I talked to Penthalos in the Dwarven Halls, I should've gotten an option to get the cure for the animals in Bartolos House. Well, no such dialogue choices comes up, even though I have in fact been to and received the "animals" quest.

According to this walkthrough, I should've received a quest to retrieve some holy water he will need to mix the cure. No such dialogue choices come up.

So, do I need to ask?? Is it a bug?

ADDED IN EDIT: Anyone having an issue with paragraph breaks when you edit?? I swear it seems like everytime I edit a post, when I click "Post my message" it all shows up as one paragraph and I have to edit it again to put the paragraph breaks back in.
Oh, FWIW, I have not only been to the house, but I have in fact killed the mage, (and a snake there too) and when I left I had promised a cow I would find the cure. Don't know if that matters or not, just letting anyone know.

In Bratus' house, after killing him did you open the chest on the table there and read the book? You might need to talk to the cow again after that.

I have that problem editing, as well, and have seen other mentioning it recently.

Thanks, that did it.

For whatever reason, this ( of all the nutty quests LOL) was the one quest I sort of recalled from my playthrough 10 or so years ago. And I remembered the priest in Halls having something to do with it, went there after killing Boratus, and.. nothing.

So then found this walkthrough hoping it would help, but I didn't see anything about opening a chest and reading book. lol totaly forgot that from last time.

Thanks again.
I've done that a couple times, half remembering quests or sections of games and getting ahead of where my character should be.
