Hey guys. I'm looking to get back into DD, but honestly I really don't feel like trudging through the first dungeon again. I was wondering if there was any kind of cheat or console editor or something I could use to turn on god mode, or anything that I could turn on temporarily just so I can blow through the starting dungeon quickly.
A quick google search didn't turn up anything.
Thanks.
I have tried the character editor with the gog version and you can use it to remove skills but using it to add skill points to skills directly does not seem to work any more.
You can give yourself points to spend in game just fine too. This won't really help you past the first dungeon though.
You might try the item editor. I have not tried it but you might be able to make a godly item with no level requirement and thus race through bits of the game you dislike with a magic whacking stick.

Thank you Porkdish, I'll give that a shot.
If you don't want to bother with an external program not written for this latest version, the dupe cheats still work in game.
First skill you should pick is alchemy level 1 early on, then buy some small reds and blues potions (2 of each is enough). Hold control and drag the stack of 2 or more pots to the ground and release to get the 'quantity' pop up. Pick -1 and you'll drop 255 potions. Make a stack of reds and blues and mix them together to make white restoration potions. Restoration (white) potions restore a percentage of your health and mana rather than a fixed value. Carry them with you through the early stages and just chug them as needed.
Not a cheat but a terrible bug is the Poison weapon skill (under the rogue talents). With this skill you can apply pots of poison to your weapon. Basically everything but undead (and even some undead) is vulnerable to poison in a terrible way. You can get the skill at level 10. The thief and potions seller in the first town restock poison pots regularly. With level 2 alchemy you can even make your own poison by dragging empty small flasks to white mushrooms all over the map. Its a cheap skill. I wiped out the entire orc population in the first map including the bosses and went from level 10 to level 24 in a half hour.
Shameful.
Another cheat is ... I won't tell you it will ruin your play time.

Hey,
I can't do the dupe trick. If I type -1 into the quantity box, it won't let me click the 'okay' button
edit: Nevermind, I got it to work. Thanks again, Pork.

The dupe trick is non-functional for me.. I managed to cause the game to core while fooling around with it, though. If the drop value is below 1, you can't tell it to do it.
You have to press 'enter' instead of clicking the checkmark.
Thanks! :)
Ok, since the first method is available, might as well describe the second method.

Thanks for all the info, it made getting through that boring dungeon a lot easier.
So that I don't have to start a new thread, I'll ask this unrelated question here: How does lock picking work? Do you just click on a locked door when you possess picks, and it will open if you are successful? Or is there something else to it?
Thanks.

Left click your active skill to show all of your skills
Left click the lockpick skill to make it active
Left click the active skill to hide your skills again
Right click anywhere on the screen (except on the UI) to activate the skill
Left click the lock you want to pick.
In-game stats
Level 1: Pick locked doors up to level 1. Required Clvl: 1, Magic Cost: 1
Level 2: Pick locked doors up to level 2. Required Clvl: 7, Magic Cost: 4
Level 3: Pick locked doors up to level 3. Required Clvl: 13, Magic Cost: 7
Level 4: Pick locked doors up to level 4. Required Clvl: 19, Magic Cost: 10
Level 5: Pick locked doors up to level 5. Required Clvl: 25, Magic Cost: 13
If you right click the UI it will go to the Mini-UI, right click the lines at
the bottom of your screen to maximize the UI again.
Skills all work much like the repair skill top image. Just select the skill you want to make active and right click to activate, left click what you want to use it on.
Most, if active, just right click where you want to use it.

Is this a version of the ultimate dupe cheat? The method for that I tried was to duplicate anything, not just potions. Handy for duplicating a favourite item before you throw charms into it. Nothing is more frustrating than finally dropping charms into an item only to see an even better charm drop later.
I *think* (tried it once) the method I used was to open a container, drag any item to dupe over to the container window but don't release, press pause, then release (You'll hear the drop sound). Move the item still stuck on your cursor back to the original inventory/container. While the game is still paused, quick save, then quick load. I think this makes a copy of anything.

No need to move back to original and quick save or quick load . . at least for me . . .drag, pause, drop, ESC, Resume, unpause.
It seems to dupe anything . . .=)
My use was to dupe armor / weapons before charming, better charms, re-dupe, re-charm.

With the new patch it seems it is no longer possible to dupe weapons / armor and upgrade the charms in the duped item. Once charmed all item dupes have the same charms as the character item.
