I actually read about this on here first, but am unable to find that thread now.

IIRC, there is only one timed quest in the game, but I can't remember which.

I just want to know the characters name and what area I find him in so I can be prepared for it. I hate timed quests!

Thanks! First to answer the who and where gets the solve!

And please post in my "battle strategies" thread. I love hearing the different ways people play, almost as much as actually playing it. Anyone use an all melee team? A no melee team? Both characters lone wolf? Post 'em in my other thread (recent, pg 1)

Thanks again!

There's only one quest (that I can remember) on a timer, in the sense that once triggered you have to act fast, and that is 'Fire, Fire, Fire', the quest to stop the ship burning in Cyseal, right at the start of the game.
I thought I had read something about someone you come across, and if you take too long on what they need from you, when you return they are dead and the quest is unsolvable or something like that.

Are you talking about Frederick, the badly injured Immaculate near to the spider queen? I know that quest gives you the impression that he's dying and you must hurry to find a cure (blood stone), but that is simply not the case. You can take your sweet time; he's slaver scum anyway. This quest also has a bad reputation for not completing properly.

If you leave the Luculla map before completing the quest, though, he will be dead when you return.
Thanks, thats the name/quest I was trying to recall.

And I hope by "blood stone" you don't mean the one I got from beating that Pirate zombie at Black Cove - I used that to open a new room at Homestead already. It opened a new room, but strangely it didn't leave behind a greyed out stone in my inventory.

Please god don't let it be that stone, I've done wayyyy too much since then to go back to that save ;)

No, the quest, if you follow it, provides it's own blood stone. Don't worry.

If you use a blood stone in your inventory, the inert stone will be tossed on the ground at your character's feet.

Nope, he bleeds out eventually. That is if you do not give him from time to time a regular heal to keep his health up.
